Minnesota Magicians were proud to select, Lakeville native, Payton Matsui with their 10th round selection in 2017 NAHL draft.
Matsui is a quick and shifty forward, who has played for St. Thomas Academy the last two seasons in the Minnesota State High School League. An offensively gifted player, Matsui had 52 points (27 goals and 25 assists) in 48 games during the past two years with the Cadets.
Matsui skill has been noticed by many, as he recently was an attendee of the USA Select-17s National Development Camp, where he had 4 points in 5 games.
“Payton is a very talented player with great vision and an underrated scoring ability,” said Minnesota Magicians Head Coach Scott Meyer. “He is very competitive and brings energy to every shift he plays.”
