Richfield, MN – The Minnesota Magicians from the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Gaven Bickford has been promoted to Director of Player Personnel.
In Bickford’s new role as Director of Player Personnel his responsibilities will include recruiting, scouting (Scouting Staff), player support, and will work directly with the coaching staff and management to identify areas of need and recruits to fill those roles. His main focus will be to recruit and build a competitive roster for the Minnesota Magicians.
“Gaven has been an instrumental piece in attracting talented hockey players to the Magicians organization. He has earned this opportunity through loyalty and hard work. We are excited to continue to grow as an organization,” General Manager and Head Coach, A.J. Bucchino.
“I’m excited to grow my role with the Magicians and continue the success we have had over the past two seasons,” said Director of Player Personnel, Gaven Bickford. “I want to thank the ownership group for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to help the organization succeed.”
Bickford initially joined the team as an Assistant Coach during the 2018 offseason. Over the past two years, the Magicians have a record of 57-44-12 (.564 Winning Percentage). Bickford has overseen thrity NCAA commitments; including eighteen at the Division One level and three NHL draft picks. Bickford will continue his role as Assistant Coach while taking on the new responsibility as Director of Player Personnel.
