The Minnesota Magicians, of the NAHL, have signed forward Brett Reed of the Sioux Falls Stampede U16 and Brehdan Engum of Burnsville High School, to tender agreements for the 2018 season.
Brett Reed is 6’ 195 lbs. forward, from Crosslake, Minnesota. Reed played for the Northern Lakes Lightning in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) before heading to Sioux Falls, SD this season. Last year, as a sophomore, Reed had 53 points (24 goals 29 assists) in 25 games for the Lightning. Reed has been able to continue his success for the Sioux Falls Stampede in the NAPHL. He has tallied 22 points (14 goals 8 assists) in just 14 games, including three hat-tricks already this season. He was honored with the NAPHL Offensive Peak Performer of November and his 22 points currently leads the NAPHL.
“Brett is a power forward who’s having a great season with the Sioux Falls U16 team. Said Magicians Assistant Coach, Ben Weiand. “He is a responsible and productive player in all three zones and the Magicians are excited to add a player who has a track record of being a goal scorer at the Midget and high school level.”
Brehdan Engum is a 6’1” 190 lbs. defenseman, who is a senior at Burnsville High School. Last year, he was an assistant captain for the Burnsville Blaze in the MSHSL and had 23 points (5 goals 18 assists) in 25 games. This fall he took part in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League and notched 11 points in 21 games for Team Southeast. Now the captain of the Burnsville, you expect Engum to big a huge part of the team this season.
“Engum us one of the areas best defenseman in his age group.” Said Head Coach Scott Meyer. “He can skate, provides offense, and defends very well. He is a kid from right down the road, which we value as an organization.”
The Magicians are enthused to add Engum and Reed to their organization. They are two dynamic players that will help the Magicians in the future.
