The Magicians struggled this past weekend dropping all three games they played. Two against the Janesville and on against the Minnesota Wilderness. The Magicians will look for a fresh start this weekend as they play their first games of 2018. The Magic will welcome the Aberdeen Wings into town to a two-game set. The Magicians still hold the final playoff spot in the Midwest Division with a record of 16-15-2 (34 points).
About the Wings:
The Wings are in 2nd place in the Central Division with a record of 17-11-2 (36 points). Last time out the Wings spit with the Magic when they travel to South Dakota.
Wings To Watch:
#9 Forward Nathan Burke – Burke is native of Scottsdale, AZ and currently leads the Wings in points. His impressive 17 goals are 4th best in the entire North American Hockey League. With 34 points on the year, the Magicians will look to slow down Burke this weekend.
#14 Forward Joe Strada – Strada is also a native of Scottsdale, AZ and is committed to play his college hockey at Arizona State University. Strada has 27 points on the season including an impressive 19 assists.
Who’s Hot for the Magic?
Brendan Skarda – Skarda was the only Magician to score multiple points last weekend and has been trending upwards as of late. Skarda is now 5th on the team in points with 19 (7G 12A)
Calvin Dybicz – Dybicz picked up another assist last weekend and has 9 points in his last 9 games. The Michigan State recruit has 13 points in 24 games for the Magicians this season.
